A Brief Introduction to
Nanning Economic and Technological
Development Area
|
Established in 1992 , Nanning Economic
and Technological Development Area (NNDA) was approved to be
a national one in May 2001,with its total planned area of 10.796
square kilometers.
NNDA is located in the south of Nanning, the capital city
of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Bordering Guangdong, Hongkong
and Macao, backing on to Guizhou, Yunnan and Sichuan , facing
Southeast Asia , Nanning is a vital pivot linking southeastern
coastland and southwestern inland as well as the only capital
city along the coast in the Midwestern region in China. It belongs
to the sub-tropical monsoon zone with abundant sunshine and
rainfall, thus is renowned as China’s “ green city”. It is
also the bridgehead of free trade zone for Association of Southeast
Asian Nations (ASEAN). From 2004 on,the annual ASEAN Expo will
be held in Nanning . China with 1,7 billion population together
with the huge market of ASEAN will offer a golden historic opportunity
for all the investors.
NNDA is 15 kilometers away from Nanning International Airport
and 5 kilometers from Beida cargo wharf, next to Nanning South
Station , the biggest railway marshalling station of the southwestern
China. Nanning enjoys unique geographical advantages in that
the urban express ring, and the outer freeway through the city
have the juncture with freeways linking Guizhou, Guangdong and
other parts of Guangxi , thus forming a convenient traffic networks.
With Guangxi and Nanning’s abundant power, water, minerals,

NNDA has attracted more and more investors.

smoothly and rapidly. Now it has exploited altogether 10.7 square
kilometers and is equipped with complete infrastructure, smooth
telecommunication networks, abundant power supply, complete
urban accessories, sound service systems .Therefore it develops
with great momentum. By the end of 2003 about 481 enterprises
from over ten countries and regions such as USA, Germany, Japan,
South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan as well as from some national
listed companies and famous enterprises have made their investment
and started their business in the area. In 2003 it realized
the total national value of output of 1.33 billion yuan, 90.06%
growth compared with the same period previous year; gross value
of industrial output of 30.65 billion yuan, an increase by 55.13%
compared with the same period previous year; state revenue 1.4
billion yuan, 26.11% growth compared with the same period previous
year. It has become the new developing area with fine chemical
engineering, auto parts, aluminum processing, sugar manufacturing,
paper- making, biological medicine, electronics, foodstuff,
processing and trading of agricultural products and real estate
developing harmoniously in science, industry and trade.
NNDA carries out “ special zone style” closed management.
As the agency from the municipal government, the administrative
committee of NNDA exercises the municipal management within
its power. With “ small government for big service” as the
aim, it practices “ one- stop” style examination and approval
and “ one-coordinated process” style service. Enterprises within
NNDA can not only enjoy the quality service from all sides through
the whole process from NNDA, they can also enjoy the policies
for the opening cities along the coast, the preferential policies
for exploiting the west and for national ones. All the investors
